Ordinance Reminder

Sec. 54-4. - Riding of bicycles, skateboards, roller skates or in-line skates on certain public sidewalks and other public areas.

(a)  It is unlawful for any person to ride a bicycle, skateboard, roller skates, or in-line skates on a public  sidewalk from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the following areas:
• 1. On Mill Street from its intersection with Washington Avenue to its intersection with North Street
  2. On Washington Avenue from its intersection with Pine Street to its intersection with Main Street
  3. On Saginaw Street from its intersection with Pine Street to its intersection with Main Street
  4. On Center Street from its intersection with Pine Street to its intersection with Main Street
  5. On Main Street from its intersection with Washington Avenue to its intersection with Center Street

The prohibitions contained in this section do not apply to a police officer engaged in the lawful performance of his or her duties.

(b) It is unlawful for any person to ride a skateboard, roller skates, or in-line skates on any municipal parking lot at any time.

(c) Penalty. Any persons convicted of a violation of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
