Duties
 

Article III, Division 1,  Sec. 2-79. Powers and duties.

 

The powers and duties of the Parks and Recreation Commission shall be:

 

To develop plans for the establishment, development, re-development, and maintenance of future and current park, athletic, and recreational facilities, and to make recommendations to the City Council for the implementation of such plans.

 

To maintain and repair all current and future public parks, recreation and athletic facilities.

 

To establish policies, rules and regulations as necessary with respect to the use of public park, recreation and athletic facilities.

 

To supervise, oversee and coordinate the use of public park, recreational and athletic interest of the community.

 

 
About the Commission
 
Currently the Parks and Recreation Commission is reviewing designs for a Victorian clock which will be placed in Clapp Park.
 

Meetings for the Parks and Recreation Commission are held the 2nd Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers.  Meetings are open to the public and citizen's attendance is encouraged.

 

The Commission consists of seven members who serve two year terms.  The members of the Parks and Recreation Commission are: Joe Scholtz, David Biehl, Sally Church, Melissa Allen, Dorthy Trigina, Kevin Palmer and Nancy Roehrs.
