Parkside Assembly of God Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt
The Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt is held yearly on the Saturday before Easter beginning at 11 a.m. and features prizes found by following clues and visiting local downtown businesses. In addition to the egg hunt, this event typically feature inflatables and other activities. Look for more information closer to the date of the event.
Each year on Memorial Day, the St. Louis V.F.W. Post #3055 sponsors a parade through town. The parade includes school bands and a variety of other entrants. There is a tribute to sailors lost at sea, a twenty-one gun salute and a Veterans service at the Veterans Hill section of Oak Grove Cemetery. Line up typically is at the St. Louis High School at 9:30 a.m. with parade start at 10:00 a.m. Ceremonies occur on the Mill Street Bridge and at the Oak Grove Cemetery. Organizations, churches, youth groups, old cars, tractors, and anyone wishing to be in the parade is encouraged to join. A community lunch usually follows the parade at St. Louis VFW Post #3055, 1295 West Monroe Road (M-46). Look for more information closer to the date of the event.
Middle of the Mitten Golf Outing
The Middle of the Mitten Community Golf Outing has reached its 26th year! The Golf Outing is the major fundraiser for the St. Louis Independence Day Fireworks and occurs on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the beautiful Hidden Oaks Golf Course in St. Louis. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. and the cook out and prize presentation to follow. Look for more information closer to the date of the event.
Flag Day Ceremony
Please join us for this traditional patriotic ceremony on the deck overlooking the river at St. Louis City Hall. The event is organized by our local Gleaners Harmony Arbor #273. The ceremony begins at 7:00 p.m. (Bring your own lawn chair.)
4th of July Celebration & Fireworks
The 4th of July has been an important holiday in St. Louis for much of its history. In 2024 the date for the celebration will be Saturday July 13th. Look for more information closer to the date of the event.
St. Louis is a stop on the Old US-27 Motor Tour. Hundreds of cars--many of them fully restored antiques--traverse the state, stopping in 13 cities along the way. The cars typically fill three blocks in downtown St. Louis. This car show is free and open to the public.
Join the St. Louis V.F.W. Color Guard on a lap around the St. Louis High School Track followed by a traditional walk across the bridge. A free pancake breakfast will be served after the walk in Clapp Park.
Downtown Trick-or-Treat
Downtown St. Louis businesses hold their own Trick or Treat hours, since they're normally closed during traditional trick-or-treat hours. Children 12 and under are invited to visit participating downtown businesses on Thursday October 31st to receive candy!
Trick-or-Treat hours in the City of St. Louis are October 31st from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Each year the St. Louis VFW Post #3055 and the American Legion sponsor events on Veterans Day, November 11. The ceremony is held at the War Monument at the intersection of M-46, Michigan Avenue and North Mill Street. Look for more information closer to the date of the event.
