The City Clerk is appointed by the City Council and reports to the City Manager.

Duties include serving as Clerk for the City Council, assisting the City Manager and other City Department Heads, attending all meetings of the City Council, keeping a permanent journal of its proceedings and keeping a record of all ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the City Council.

The clerk also administers all Elections and performs numerous other duties as required by State and local laws.

Absent Voter Information

If you would like to be placed on the permanent absent voter list, please contact the City Clerk. With the passing of proposal 22-2, there is now an option to automatically receive a ballot every election and skip the application process.  You will see this option on your absentee ballot applications and may select that if you chose for all future elections.

For those not on the permanent list, Absent Ballot Applications are usually made available 6 weeks prior to an election.

In Person - Early Voting

All qualified electors in Gratiot County have the right to mark a ballot and deposit the ballot in the tabulator beginning the second Saturday before an election and ending the Sunday before the election. Early voting will be available at the early voting site for the hours listed below.
