Local author David McMacken has written his third book regarding St. Louis’ history, The Story of Colonel Elwell’s Castle. The 56-page book is the wonderful story of the huge Victorian “castle” on the corner of M-46 and Delaware Street and includes information on the interesting people who have lived there. It also includes many full color photos of the interior and exterior showing the exquisite details that make this house one of the most unique in this part of the state.
Books cost $15 each and are available at the T.A. Cutler Memorial Library on Michigan Avenue in St. Louis and from Phil Hansen’s office at St. Louis City Hall. Proceeds go to support community events.
