Joe Scholtz Memorial Free Fishing Derby

St. Louis has had an annual Fishing Derby for the past 18 years and it continues to be very well attended.  In 2012, the event was re-named the Joe Scholtz Memorial Fishing Derby.  Joe was the Mayor of St. Louis and the founder, organizer and driving force behind this wonderful day for the community before he passed away in 2011.

Hundreds of people typically visit the Pine River in St. Louis' Leppien Park to try their hand at landing the biggest fish.

The derby will be held this year on Saturday, June 10, 2017.  Fishing is from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

The St. Louis community thanks the family of Joe Scholtz and the St. Louis/Alma Lions Club for being committed to carrying on this fine event.
