SUMMARY:Memorial Day Parade
DESCRIPTION:Each year on Memorial Day, the St. Louis V.F.W. Post #3055 sponsors a parade through town. The parade includes school bands and a variety of other entrants. There is a tribute to sailors lost at sea, a twenty-one gun salute and a Veterans service at the Veterans Hill section of Oak Grove Cemetery.
Line up begins at the St. Louis High School at 9:30 a.m. with parade start at 10:00 a.m. Ceremonies occur on the Mill Street Bridge and at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Organizations, churches, youth groups, old cars, tractors, and anyone wishing to be in the parade is encouraged to join.
A community lunch immediately follows the parade at St. Louis VFW Post #3055, 1295 West Monroe Road (M-46).
