320 South Main Street Demolition

In November of 2006 the City of St. Louis demolished a condemned property at 320 South Main Street, the former Rowley & Church site.  The project cost in excess of $39,000.00 and was funded by the City's EPA Brownfield Grant.  This work helped the property to be suitable for future development.

2006 Pavement Improvement Project

In late October, 2006, the City bagan their annual paving program, investing over $200,000 for new pavement on Watson, Franklin, Prospect/North Mill, Corinth and Hubbard Streets.  This project annually addresses some of the sections of the City that need repaving and is paid for out of the City's General Fund.

304 North Street Demolition

In 2006 the City purchased a condemned property on North Street on the bank of the Pine River near downtown.  In October the house was torn and the land cleared for future development and also to remove an eyesore to the community.

Corner of North Mill & Center Street Tank Removal

A former gas station site was cleaned up in October as the City purchased the property on the northeast corner of North Mill and Center Streets and had old fuel tanks removed and soil replaced with clean fill.  Plans are to turn the corner into a small "pocket park" to make an aesthetic improvement to the downtown as well as providing shoppers a place to sit and relax.
