Local historian and teacher Dave McMacken has written The Saratoga of the West – The Story of the Magnetic Mineral Spring and Park Hotel chronicling the time when St. Louis received visitors from all over the world who came her to bathe in the healing mineral waters and stay at the famous Park Hotel.
